Heated Rivalry
Support Groups:
A Passion Project
The Full Story
This page is dedicated to a passion project spurred by the arrival of a TV show called Heated Rivalry.
Perhaps you have heard of it?
I have long held a firm belief that art imitates life: the feelings we have, the connections we yearn for, the societal expectations we have to face head-on, and the adverse experiences that many of have to live with. When you watch a television show and you find yourself unabashedly attached to and utterly impacted by it, do you wonder about the reason why?
Do you wish that you could yell from the rooftops that you LOVE this show?
Do you ever wonder if others are as attached to this show as you are?
If the answer to any of those questions is 'Yes', then you've come to the right place.
In response to the impact that Heated Rivalry has had on people all over, the idea to create "support groups" emerged. We live in a world where people are actively seeking connections - people are desperately searching for safe spaces where they can be seen, heard and understood. Art forms - particularly theater, television and cinematic productions - are observed to bring people together over and over again. We should celebrate that. We should create space for that, and that's why we are here.
You might see that this is a part of a larger site that is centered around offering support for those who have experienced domestic violence/interpersonal violence; you may be asking why THIS passion project is on THIS website.
Well, here is the most concise (albeit, informal) answer: 1) I already had a website, so it made sense to utilize it, and 2) at the end of the day, we are all looking for opportunities to connect, grow and empathize; I view my website as just that.
Now, back to this little passion project. Below you will see a couple of different things.
First, you'll see more information about the vision for this Heated Rivalry support group.
Secondly, you will find a form that you can submit with your interest in participating in a group.
Third, if you would like to donate to this cause so that we could create more groups for people, feel free to donate whatever it is that you can or want to.
Who's excited? Scroll down to learn more and express interest in the group!
